Friend Bank helps students and teachers during “Stuff the Bus” event (Hear More)
For most of us, the smell of a new box of crayons or the sight of a superhero lunch box brings back fond memories of childhood and the excitement of beginning a new school year. Many students today, however, are unable to afford the supplies they need to succeed in school.
This is where we, as neighbors and friends, can help. “Stuff the Bus,” a program of “Yes We Can Dothan!” provides a streamlined process for collecting school supplies that allows Wiregrass residents to be directly involved in improving the lives of local students. To participate, simply bring new school supplies to the Center Court of Wiregrass Commons Mall on any Saturday in August. For those unsure of what to bring, personnel from Dothan City Schools will be available at the drop-off site to answer all questions about uniform rules and school supplies.
All supplies collected will go directly to local students in need, so that they will be equipped for a successful year in the classroom. Thank you for your investment in the education of our local students.
