Alfred Saliba Family Service Center Recognizes Friend Bank
In January, staff and volunteers with the Alfred Saliba Family Services Center began the 13 week Financial Peace University program by Dave Ramsey. The program was led by Friend Bank’s own Joseph and Hope Johnson. During the 13 weeks, the staff and volunteers were given tools to understand the financial, emotional and spiritual implications of daily decisions. “The money management information not only benefited our employees and their families, but it will continue to help us better serve our clients and their families,” said Linda O’Connell, Executive Director of the Services Center. The classes were held every Wednesday during lunch, for two hours. The group would spend time together learning through video instruction and group discussion. All class materials were provided by Friend Bank.
In celebration of the graduation ceremony on April 4th, Hope and Joseph Johnson grilled hamburgers and provided lunch for the entire staff, volunteers and class attendees. As a surprise and in recognition of Hope and Joseph’s sacrifice of time, the Center showed their appreciation by hosting a “thank you” event in their honor.
“This has been such a wonderful opportunity that Hope and Joseph provided to our staff and consumers,” said Linda O’Connell. She continued to say, “Friend Bank has certainly been a friend to Alfred Saliba Family Service Center.”
